Meet Matt!

Matt Messick, Senior, Drivetrain sub-team

Matt enjoys working on real-world problems which is a big reason why he chose to study engineering. “Engineering is a very hands-on field. Being on Baja gives me the opportunity to work in a realistic team environment and design a vehicle that will represent the university,” he said. Matt is specifically working on the CVT for the team and hopes reduce weight and increase overall performance. In the future Matt hopes to pursue a career related to engines or other propulsion systems.

Fun fact about Matt: “I play trumpet in the Marching Virginians.”
