Meet the team: Abby Heitzman

Abby Heitzman, Senior, Chassis sub-team leader

Abby’s desire to study engineering began in high school, “I bought a 1959 Ford F-100 in high school and learned to work on it myself. This really drove my interest in mechanical engineering and learning how things work,” says Abby. Abby’s goal for VT Baja is to design a small and maneuverable car that will place top 5 at the SAE competition. Abby has interned at Cummins Emission Solutions, Toyota Motor Manufacturing, and Rolls-Royce. Her dream job is working in management in manufacturing engineering.

Fun fact about Abby: “I traveled to six countries this past summer.”
